Which Version of Windows 7 should I get?

Disclaimer - use at your own risk.  I'm not a computer operating system expert.  I just have an interest in computers.  Underconstruction - more stuff coming soon.  This webpage was written in November 2009 - things may have changed since.  I made this webpage while deciding upon the upgrade from Vista and Windows XP.

The different versions/editions of Windows 7 are:

• Home Premium
• Professional
• Ultimate

If you want to run an XP mode window

• You will need either Professional or Ultimate

What's the difference between Professional and Ultimate versions of Windows 7?

• With Ultimate, you get bitlocker which helps protect data on your PC and portable storage devices against loss or theft
•  With Ultimate you can switch between 35 different languages.
